About the Author
My imagination has always been a bit too active for my own good. One of the first times I really got in trouble in school was in first grade. I convinced the teacher that my mother made my dad sleep out in the doghouse–that one earned a parent conference at the school. But that didn’t stop me from coming up with some fairly inventive stories. I once wrote a ghost story involving a house inhabited by living rubber bands (don’t ask…I don’t really remember it too well). The plot sounds a bit thin now, but it took first place in our school’s Halloween contest. I supposed I’ve always been attracted to things that are sort of spooky.
We’re big Disney fans too. The Haunted Mansion is my absolute favorite ride. To be honest, I don’t truly remember what inspired Here They Lie. It was a book that took several years to write (and more than one complete overhaul) to get it to what its become today. I can say that I’m really pleased with the final concept. I feel like I’ve only just begun to tell the story because things really begin to get interesting in the second book, A Cautionary Tale (March, 2016).
